The best Cherry Blossom Photos in and around Tokyo, 2019
With the cherry blossom season nearly over here in Tokyo, not only is it time to be grateful for the good weather and happy hanami memories which have been created, but also be reflective on the new year that is soon to be upon us.
Did you visit one of the six places I recommended in my Sakura Travel Guide? If so, you may recognise a couple of locations of these photos. But let’s test your knowledge of Japan outside of Tokyo too; some of these photos were taken outside of Tokyo. Can you locate them all? Let’s find out!
Mystery Location 1: This park is now owned by the Imperial Palace, and is in the heart of one of the busiest districts in Tokyo.
Mystery Location 2: You wouldn’t be caught dead here without a small dog in a very expensive purse, also the nightlife is pretty wild.
Mystery Location 3: This is one of the most popular spots to view cherry blossoms. The river is lined with pink lanterns and you can even buy pink beer here.
Mystery Location 4: This is just outside Tokyo, in neighbouring Kanagawa Prefecture, the JR Nambu Line runs past this area.
Mystery Location 5: This area may look pretty peaceful, but what comes next is a pack of naughty Shiba Inu.
Mystery Location 6: This spot is famous for its onsens (hot springs) and being incredibly close to Lake Ashi, a great spot for viewing Mt Fuji.
So, Wedy fans, were you able to locate all five of the mystery locations?
Here’s the answers for you, just incase, well, you know…
Mystery Location 1: SHINJUKU Gyeon National Park
Mystery Location 2: Roppongi, KEYAKIZAKA DŌRI,
Mystery Location 3: Meguro River
Mystery Location 4: Kashimada
Mystery Location 5: Kawa River Run, Nippon Marathon
Mystery Location 6: Hakone
Did you get five out of five? Well done, you’re awesome!
So that’s all for now folks,
I’ve been Wedy Jones.
